Popular Post X-Man Posted August 29, 2020 Popular Post Posted August 29, 2020 This is from the same box of Monte 2 which I nubbed earlier this week. Since FOH is having the Montecristo Review Weekend, I thought I smoke another one tonight. Appearance: This one has slightly rougher wrapper than the last. Scent: Very enchanting Cuban smell. Cold Draw: Cocoa, coffee along with raisins and fruity sweet tastes.Flavors - 1st 3rd: Upon lighting, the cigar is very aromatic with lots of smoke, as expected from a Cuban torpedo. 2nd 3rd: Very tangy and fruity tastes, miraculously blended with grounded coffee and cocoa beans flavors, in a medium-full tobacco taste. Final 3rd: The strength and intensity of this Monte 2 picked up towards the final stretch. I am getting some chestnuts and woody notes. Extremely rich in flavors. No wonder I had to nubbed the last one. Once again, I am smoking this one right down to the nub, burning my lips and finger tips. Like Rob mentioned, a good Monte 2 is really a lovely cigar one can enjoy over and over. Even smoking from the same box, one can never get bored. Unfortunately, with such demand on this marca, the production volume will always be high and hence the variance in quality of workmanship and construction. For this particular one I smoked tonight, I am giving it 92/100. I feel this box has true potential to be the classic that all Cuban cigar connoisseurs claim this to be. Just not sure how I have the patience to age them for another 4-5 years. 8

Sir Diggamus Posted August 30, 2020 Posted August 30, 2020 @X-Man I just love it when you enjoy a cigar and can see that it is still holding back the best of what is yet to come. Sometimes age can surprise you, but other times you just know letting a certain cigar rest will reward you with time.
